Europe - UK March 2012 117We (Tevis and Sheryl) recently returned from exhibiting at the annual Musik Messe Fair held at Frankfurt.  This is an International Trade Show, with music companies from all over the world who exhibit.  Unlike NAMM, who strictly invites Music Store Companies only to attend, Musik Messe invites stores, players, and consumers to the show.  It is mostly attended by Europeans but people from other continents also go.

It was great to see some of our endorsers from Europe and UK who stopped by and played a bit at our booth.  We also debuted the brand new Brute Trumpet at the show.  It was well received and will be available starting within the next few months, in the 725 and 789RL models.  Our favorite place to eat Italian in Frankfurt is near the Old Opera House, and is called Garibaldi’s.  We ate there 3 times (it is also the favorite of many of our business associates)!  The tables are inches apart and they pack in hundreds of people in a fairly small room.  Sometimes the pizza maker comes out to dance and throw pizza dough up in the air at the same time.  At the show, we were also visited by Dirk Steinberg, who names himself Gerald Albright’s biggest fan.

After the show, we did a lot of traveling on the road and by air to visit Cannonball music dealers in Germany, Holland, and England.  Our European Distributor in Holland held an open house for us.  We were able to meet some endorsers and other Cannonball players. Jasper Staps and Guido Nijs, Dutch endorsers, drove 1 ½ hours to meet us!  We had a wonderful time together comparing sounds, mouthpieces, concepts and industry talk.

We happened to be in Holland at the perfect time, during the Tulip Festival so we were able to have a few hours off to enjoy the amazing tulips and greenery of Holland.

While in London, we were absolutely taken by surprise to bump into Cannonball USA endorser, Chris Hemingway, who happened to be in London at the same time!  Chris plays alto for New Century Quartet, a classical group, but he was on a jazz/funk tour with another group when we met him in London.

It was a 16 day trip which was great and we’re glad to be back home.  There is a lot to catch up on here!
